December 3, 2009, FLF Board Actions
- Welcomed three new rotating board members–Toby Barnett from Texas and two Missourians–John Heskett and Roy Miller.
- Welcomed a one-year advisory board member, Cara Harrington from Missouri.
- Established a permanent endowment fund with the principle to remain and the earnings to go to mission programs and projects. The first monies in the fund are from the memorials to the late Lucille Hatfield, mother of Roger Hatfield, whose love for missions was a catalyst for a lifetime of missions service.
- Approved the submitting of a matching grant application to the Missouri Baptist Foundation.
- Received a recent unrestricted major donation of $10,000 with deep appreciation and with 20 percent for operations immediately and a future planning process to leverage the remaining gift for mission causes.
- Established the next board meeting to be March 4-5, 2010, in Jefferson City.
- Postponed the adoption of a 2010 budget until January 28, 2010.
- Received a report from Phil Hunt and Stephen Mathis, who were presenters at Crown Financial Ministries national Crown Ignite meeting in Kansas City, MO, November 6-7, 2009.
- Received a report from John Jackson on:
- the proposed training event for February 2010 at Moscow Theological Seminary,
- his presence as a faculty member at Minsk Theological Seminary, November 17-20, 2009, and
- his presence at the graduation ceremony for theology students on Saturday, November 21, 2009.
- Partnership Covenants for 2010 will be forthcoming for board approval in Belarus, Lithuania, Moldova, the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
